Interview Questions

Top 3 Most Common Interview Questions - Tell Me About Yourself?

In this blog, We will talk about top 3 most common interview questions.

Question 1 - Tell Me About Yourself?

The first question, which is usually asked at the beginning, is "Tell me about yourself." This is where most candidates make mistakes. They start talking about their school, college, hobbies, and family members. However, what the interviewer actually wants to know is what is important to you in life and whether you are fit for the job role or not. Therefore, you should cover both of these things in your answer.

Answer: You can answer this question by saying, "My name is Rohit, and I am a hard-working engineering graduate. I have completed extra workshops during engineering, and I have practiced in three workshops and gained proficiency in a particular technology. This makes me suitable for this job role, and I can contribute well to the company." This answer makes it clear what you did and highlights a small quality of yours, which is hard work. Additionally, what you learned and excelled in should be relevant to the job role and responsibility. In this way, you can answer the question "Tell me about yourself" very well.

You need to tell the interviewer how suitable you are for the job and what are your selected good qualities. There is no need to exaggerate. If you are a salesman and say that you are one of the top-ranking salesmen, it will not look good. Keep your response simple and genuine.

Question 2 - Tell me about your Strengths & Weaknesses

The second commonly asked question is "Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses." Often people make the mistake of exaggerating their strengths. However, you should tell the actual genuine strengths that you have. For instance, if you are a good player, you can say that you are good with teamwork. You can also mention if you meet deadlines well and work according to the time. Moreover, provide examples to support your response. Share some good initiatives that you took in your previous office regarding teamwork. If you faced any challenges, mention how you used your strengths to solve them.

Question 3 - Where do you see yourself in 3 or 5 years?

Another commonly asked question is "Where do you see yourself in three years or five years?" You need to answer this wisely. Tell them how you want to contribute to the growth of the organization and how you want to see your position grow in the company in the coming five years. This way, you can share your growth plan with them in a few words. The interviewer will also know that you are serious about the growth of the company and that you will be loyal to them.

Lastly, make sure you practice the answers in advance. Do not memorize them word for word, but practice them repeatedly to answer the questions confidently and effectively. Never go for an interview without preparation and practice. Sit with your friends or seniors in college and practice mock interviews.
