Privacy Policy


  1. This is the Privacy Policy for GoodWorker Technologies Private Limited, a private limited company incorporated in terms of the Companies Act, 2013 with CIN U72900KA2020PTC153051 and having its registered office at No. 135, 2nd Floor, 1st Cross, 5th Block, Koramangala, Bengaluru Bangalore KA 560034 (“Company”). In this Privacy Policy, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the Company.

  1. The Company maintains and operates an Application called GoodWorker (“App”) for facilitating job-matching services between blue-collar candidates (“Job Seeker/Candidate(s)”)  and interested employers (“Job Posters”) and also create a learning curve for the workers through videos for learning and thus digitally up-skilling them. The App is available over website and mobile for Job Posters while it is available over mobile for Job Seekers. There are two parts to this Application, one being the “Job Classifieds” section which is for the Job Seekers who wish to be hired by various Job posters and also for the Job Posters who wish to hire blue-collar workers for various types of jobs (“JC”) and the other one being the Learning Community for the Job Seekers who could up-skill themselves by viewing short educational videos and also upload educational videos as per the terms and conditions provided hereunder (“LC”). This Privacy Policy is applicable to the Job Seekers/ Job Posters or any person using the App, through the Mobile Application or through Website (as may be applicable), and in the process would be providing personal data to us for usage of the App ("Purpose"). 

  1. This Privacy Policy describes how we may collect, use, disclose and process your personal data when you:
  • access or use the App and services; and/or
  • provide us with your personal data.
  1. We will only use your personal data in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy.  
  1. By providing us with personal data, you acknowledge that our collection, use, disclosure and processing of personal data will be in accordance with this Policy, including, for the avoidance of doubt, the cross-jurisdictional transfer of your data. DO NOT provide any personal data to us if you do not accept this Privacy Policy.
  1. This Privacy Policy supplements but does not supersede or replace any consents you may have provided to us, or any other agreements or arrangements that you may have with us, in respect of your personal data.
  1. The App may contain links to other applications/websites that are not owned or maintained by us. These links are provided only for your convenience. You may also be accessing the App through third-party websites and/or platforms. This Privacy Policy only applies to the App. When visiting these third-party websites/Applications, their privacy policies shall apply.


We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time in compliance with applicable laws or as we update our data usage and handling processes. The updated policy will supersede earlier versions and will apply to personal data provided to us previously. The updated Privacy Policy will take effect when made available on the App. If we make a change that significantly affects your rights or, to the extent we are permitted to do so, significantly changes how or why we use personal data, we will notify you over email at the address provided to us.


  1. What is personal data.  For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, “Personal Data” shall mean data relating to a natural person using this platform (Job Seekers/Representatives of the Job posters)   and who is directly or indirectly identifiable data or any other details including but not limited to any characteristic, trait, attribute or any other feature of the identity of the person, whether online or offline, or any combination of such features with any other information, which identifies the individual/company, and shall include any inference drawn from such data for the purpose of profiling
  1. The types of personal data we may collect include:  
  • Identity and Contact Data. This includes your name, address, mobile number, gender, email address, geographic location; age range (to ensure that you are of a legally valid age group)
  • Profile Data. This includes: (a) unique identifiers such as your username, decentralised identifier, account number or password, and (b) details of your use of our JC and LC service; (c) Relevant skills possessed by you for assisting in finding the right job profile (d) any other specific requirement in order to verify the eligibility to apply for a particular job posted on the App
  1. Feedback, messages and survey responses. This includes any messaging you send us in a service request, question or concern including via email, telephone or via the App (if available).
  1. Verifiable Credentials containing personal data which are either issued by you (as Issuer) or to you (as Holder). In these Terms, “Verifiable Credentials” shall refer to tamper-evident data in a machine-readable format (i.e. expressed as structured code) that contains information / pertains to a certain data point about a natural person or legal entity.
  1. Personal data collected from cookies and similar technologies. We use commonly-used tools to automatically collect information that may contain Personal data from your computer or mobile device as you visit the App or in general use our services. This includes your internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser and device information, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the files viewed on the App (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. Refer to section 6 below for more information.  
  1. Professional information: We will require your professional information like your education, work experience, skills, photo, city or area which would help you to get more from our services including helping prospective employers to contact you.  
  1. Other information. Any other information of a personal nature that you voluntarily provide to us in the course of your use of the App and/or services.
  1. Contact List: We may require access to your contacts list on your mobile device for building social connect loops and . We always ask for your consent before accessing your contacts list and you have the option to deny us access to your contacts list. However, you will be able to share content from the App with your contacts only after you have provided us the permission access the contacts for this purpose.  
  1. Camera Permission. We would require permission from you to access the camera so that photo that you have clicked can be displayed on your resume or even for any videos that may be uploaded into the App in the LC mode.
  2. Voluntary provision of personal data.  We may collect personal data (1) that you voluntarily provide to us, (2) from third parties; or (3) through your use of our (or our services provider’s) digital technologies and services (Please see Section 4 How We Collect Personal Data for further details). What personal data we collect depends on the purposes for which the personal data is collected and what you have chosen to provide.When our collection is based on consent, you can choose not to provide us with personal data. Also please do not post or add personal data that you do not want to make publicly available. However, if you do so, it may not be possible for us to fulfil the purposes for which we require the personal data, including processing your transactions or providing you with the products and services that you require.
  3. Accuracy and completeness of personal data.  You are responsible for ensuring that all personal data that you provide to us is true, accurate and complete. You are responsible for informing us of any changes to your personal data.
  4. Minors.  The App and/or services are not intended to be accessed or used by minors or persons who are not of legal age. If you are a parent or guardian and you have reason to believe your child or ward has provided us with their personal data without your consent, please contact us.
  5. Verifiable Credentials. You acknowledge and consent to the collection, use, disclosure, processing, transfer and storage of your personal data by us and/or third-party service providers that facilitate the transactions and activities between you and other users or third parties on or through the App, for the purposes of generating, creating, providing, storing, processing, facilitating, transferring, transmitting and managing Verifiable Credentials. You acknowledge and consent for us (or our service providers) to disclose your data and information (including Verifiable Credentials) to third parties at your instruction and/or direction.


  1. Personal data you provide. We collect personal data that is relevant to our relationship with you. We may collect your personal data directly or indirectly through various channels, such as when:

  • your access, download or use the App and services;
  • you transact with us, contact us or request that we contact you through various communication channels, for example, through social media platforms, messenger platforms, face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, emails, fax and letters;
  • your request to be included in an e-mail or our mailing list;
  • we seek information about you and receive your personal data in connection with your relationship with us;  
  • when you submit your personal data to us for any other reason.

  1. Personal data provided by others. Depending on your relationship with us, we may also collect your personal data from third party sources, for example, from:

  • any third parties whom you have authorised us to obtain your personal data from; and/or
  • your family members or friends who provide your personal data to us on your behalf.  


       What we do.
We collect, use, disclose and process your personal data where:

  1. you have voluntarily provided us with your personal data;
  1. you have given us consent;
  1. necessary to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, e.g. responding to valid requests from public authorities;
  1. necessary to support our legitimate business interests, provided that this does not override your interests or rights; and
  1. necessary to perform a transaction which you have entered into with us or which you have instructed us to perform, or provide a service that you have requested or require from us.

       General purposes.  We collect, use, disclose and process your personal data for purposes connected or relevant to our business, to manage your relationship with us. Such purposes would include:

  1. carrying out your transactions with us, taking steps as may be directed by you, or providing our products and/or services to you;
  1. facilitating your use of the App, including verifying and establishing your identity;
  1. communicating with you, and assisting you with your queries, requests, websites, complaints, and feedback;
  1. resolving any disputes, investigating any complaint, claim or dispute or any actual or suspected illegal or unlawful conduct;
  1. for providing our services including sending job alerts, sending communication-related to our recruitment services, facilitating communication between suitable candidates and interested employers etc;
  1. to conduct background checks or verification of the Personal Information and other details, whether by ourselves or through duly authorized parties, as required for providing our services or as required by our clients for recruitment of suitable candidates;
  1. for sharing with interested employers to facilitate the recruitment of suitable candidates;
  1. provide suggestions in case any of your contacts joins the App or upload any videos/add comments on the App.
  1. to match the profile of the suitable candidates with the relevant employers;
  1. for protecting the Personal Information as required by applicable law and providing customer support;
  1. to give relevant search results and job recommendations;
  1. to communicate with the User or any third parties;
  1. to contact you or relevant third parties for conducting market research to improve the App and our services.  
  1. to improve your experience and the overall quality of our services; whether based on your feedback or based on an analysis of your behaviour;  
  1. to personalize your experience and better our responses to match your requirements, wherever possible.
  1. administrative purposes, including finance, IT and HR purposes, quality assurance and staff training, and compliance with internal policies and procedures, including audit, accounting, risk management and record keeping;
  1. carrying out research and statistical analysis, including the development of new products and services or evaluation and improvement of our existing products and services;
  1. security purposes e.g. protecting the App/Website from unauthorised access or usage and monitoring for security threats;
  1. compliance with any legal or regulatory obligations, applicable laws, regulations, codes of practices, guidelines, or rules, or to assist in law enforcement and investigations conducted by any governmental and/or regulatory authority;
  1. performing data analytics and related technologies on data, to enable us to deliver relevant content and information to you, and to improve the App and digital platforms;
  1. managing and engaging third parties or data processors that provide services to us, e.g. IT services, technological services, delivery services, and other professional services;
  1. carrying out our legitimate business interests;
  1. such purposes that may be informed to you when your personal data is collected; and/or
  1. any other reasonable purposes related to the aforesaid.

Where personal data is used for a new purpose and where required under applicable law, we shall obtain your consent.

  1. Use permitted under applicable laws.  We may also collect, use, disclose and process your personal data for other purposes, without your knowledge or consent, where this is required or permitted by law. Your personal data may be processed if it is necessary on reasonable request by a regulatory authority, body or agency or in the defence of a legal claim.  We will not delete personal data if relevant to any statutory investigation or a dispute. It will continue to be stored until those issues are fully resolved.

  1. Contacting you.  When we contact or send you information for the above purposes and purposes for which you have consented, we may do so by post, e-mail, SMS, telephone or such other means provided by you. If you do not wish to receive any communication or information from us or wish to restrict how we may contact or send you information, you may contact us in accordance with paragraph 1.7 above.


  1. Automated Data Collection Technologies. To improve our products or services, we collect data by way of “cookies”. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store via your browser on the hard drive of your mobile device. We use third-party cookies, which are placed by someone other than us and may gather data across multiple websites or sessions.

  1. How we use Automated Data Collection Technologies. We use cookies and other similar technologies to collect personal data for the purposes of:  
  1. analyzing trends and App performance;
  1. product development;
  1. administering the App;
  1. to count users who have visited our Site and collect other types of information including insights about visitors’ browsing habits on the App;  
  1. gathering demographic information about our user base as a whole;
  1. to learn what parts of the App are most popular and what kind of features and functionalities our visitors like to see;
  1. to help us understand the type of marketing content that is most likely to appeal to our visitors and Customers;  
  1. to store your log in sessions so that you need not provide login details on each new page; and
  1. to help us with the selection of future product and service lines, App design and to remember your preferences.

Information collected by these cookies is used only to improve your use of the App.  These cookies are sometimes placed by third-party providers of web traffic and analysis services.

This allows us to analyse patterns of visitor and client behaviour. We use that information to enhance the overall experience or identify areas of the App which may require maintenance. The information is anonymous (i.e. it cannot be used to identify you and does not contain personal information such as your name and email address), and it is only used for statistical purposes.  


For tracking general user information for analytical purposes, the following cookie is used. It is only appliable once the user gives consent by clicking "accept" in the privacy notice banner.

3. Facebook pixel by Facebook

This allows us to track visitors as they interact with our business both on and off of Facebook and Instagram. For example, if you visited the App by clicking on a Facebook advertisement, Facebook pixel will trigger the cookie and may deliver personalised ads regarding our websites and services to you via their platforms.   1. Refusing or deleting cookies.   1. Disclosure to related parties. We may disclose or share your personal data with our related parties to provide our services to you, for management and compliance purposes, and to utilise shared group IT functions.

  1. When you share content and communicate using the App, you choose the audience for what you share. For example, when you post any content from the App on Facebook, you select the audience for the post, such as a friend, a group of friends or all of your friends. Similarly, when you use WhatsApp or any other application on your mobile device to share the vids or any job postings on the App, you choose who you share the content with. We do not control and shall not be liable for the manner, in which such persons (with whom you choose to share content via any sharing options, such as WhatsApp or Facebook, available on the App) use the information that you share with them.


  1. Unauthorised access.  While we take reasonable precautions to safeguard your personal data in our possession or under our control, you agree not to hold us liable or responsible for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorised or unintended access that is beyond our control, such as hacking or cybercrimes.

  1. Vulnerabilities.  We do not make any warranty, guarantee, or representation that your use of our systems or App is safe and protected from malware and other vulnerabilities. We also do not guarantee the security of data that you choose to send us electronically. Sending such data is entirely at your own risk.

  1. Period of retention.  We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, and to satisfy our business and/or legal purposes, including data analytics, audit, accounting or reporting purposes. How long we keep your personal data depends on the nature of the data, e.g. we keep personal data for at least the duration of the limitation period for bringing claims if the personal data may be required to commence or defend legal proceedings. Some information may also be retained for longer, e.g. where we are required to do so by law. Copies of any public content may be retained indefinitely in our systems, including in cached and archived pages of the App, or if other users have copied or saved that information. In addition, due to the nature of the internet, copies of your content, including content that you have removed or deleted from your account, may also exist elsewhere on the Internet, and be retained indefinitely.
